The Simmons' ProSport Series of Spotting Scopes is possibly the best value in the market today. Featuring optical performance that is equal to, or better than any competitor's product line. The ProSport series also offers the protection of waterproof and armored construction as well as a hard shell case, tripod and tripod case.

Featuring fully coated optics and a rugged waterproof housing, the Simmons 20-60x60 spotting scope delivers targeting results in full brilliance almost as fast as you can punch holes. The scope's rubber armor, meanwhile, not only protects the body but also helps you grip the scope in nasty weather. Finally, the scope is nitrogen-purged and O-ring sealed, creating a fully fogproof and waterproof performance whether you're in the field, at the shooting range, or on a hillside viewing wildlife. Simmons 20-60x60mm Spotting scope
I replaced a weaker Bushnell scope I'd had since I'm shooting at much farther ranges now. I've been very happy with the Simmons rifle scopes I own & have had occasion to require customer service which was outstanding. Simmons may not be considered as hi-caliber an optic as some brands or models costing ten times as much, but for the shooter or hunter who hits the range a few times a month or hunts a few times a year, they're a great value that you won't be afraid to take into the field. I've been happy with all Simmons products I've come in contact with.

This scope was shipped very quickly & came in a hard case, with a soft case for field carry in hunting applications. The front lens cap has a compass built in (a handy feature if you take it hunting). The image is crisp, bright & clear out to the 300 yards I've used it at so far. I'm going to try to get out to a 1000 yard rage, but not possible at this point. The tripod includes a quick detachable head which really makes...

Cheap & effective
I needed a spotting scope for making my time at the rifle range more than just about slinging lead -- but I didn't want to spend a ton of money. At my local sporting goods/outdoor store, the Simmons Blazer 20-60x60 was the best apparent compromise in price, magnification power and objective lens size. It was a bonus that it came with a tripod.

First, the included tripod is junk. It's too cheap and lacks the stability to make me comfortable with the scope on top of it. I'm constantly worried that it's going to wobble over and cause the scope to break. It only took using it two or three times before I spent another $25 on a table-top tripod from Slik.

Second, even though the objective lens is a 60mm glass, it doesn't let in as much light as you would expect. My 10x42 rifle scope is far brighter.

Aside from this, considering the money spent the scope does exactly what I need it to do. I'm NOW able to easily see .223 sized holes in the target paper at 100...
Simmions yes Barska no....
I bought a Barska Benchmark 25-125x88 from Overstock. It was cheaply made and got so blurry, that the .22 bullet hole at 165 yds was not visable. So I returned it thinking maybe some defect. When the replacement arrived, same thing. So it went back and I got refunded the $113. No charges for the returns. Thank you.
This Simmions is a much better scope,you can tell just by picking it up. From one end to the other. Much better tripod that adjusts, someting the Barska didn't. Along with a nice bag and hard case. And it was even cheeper than the "Blurry Barska Benchmark" (say that 3 times fast....LOL.) The .22 hole is now visable at 165 yds.
:)
Buy the Simmions instead of the Barska.

Yours truley;
The 165yd plunker.
