With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Helmet buckle issues
Normally I rate Garneau products highly. This helmet is light and comfortable but that is where it ends. The buckles at the ear drops and the chin strap are awful holding at best. I am familiar and read how to loosen and tighten the ear drops by the bending in the middle and then straightening every which way to adjust and all that. But..........the adjustment does not hold worth a darn for even a short ride to the market. The chin strap is even worse for this. I have to constantly tighten the buckles. This worries me to another end and that is what happens when and if it is needed to hold in a fall? I hope I do not have to experience that. So.....I am looking again for another helmet. And no I cannot recommend this helmet due to the inferior buckle systems.
So do not waste your money on this helmet. Look for a more secure design.

Saved by the X-lite (and Garneau!)
I bought this helmet in February 2012. Put over 2000 miles on it, many of them on serious ascents and descents, and loved the fit. Then I crashed on my local pedestrian bike path (the most dangerous bike route in my Seattle neighborhood!), messing up the left side of my body, and some brand new bike clothes. It wasn't till a week or so later that I even noticed the scratches and dent on my helmet....I never even knew how hard my helmeted head hit the pavement. So I contacted Garneau, and they replaced the helmet for free under their one year crash guarantee....THAT can't be beat.
...oh yeah, and I prefer the unsexy look of the x-lite too...in fact, that's the primary reason I bought it in the first place.
Super light helmet!!
I'm incredibly happy with my new Louis Garneau helmet! It has better cranial coverage in the back than the Giro Pro-Light (the main reason I choose this helmet) and as the name says its "Lite" which means I can wear it alllll day long! Awesome!
