For the money its good!
The thing I found that makes a spotting scope better than the next is the glass. The glass is decent for the price. I think better than both barska and tasco, more along the lines of a good Bushnell. Taking into account the company makes primarily telescopes I didn't think they would be that bad. I am not dissappointed at all. Everybody complains about the tripod. Its nowhere near as crappy as many of the others in this price range and actually extends a few feet. But do yourself a favor and buy a decent(but still cheap)tripod from walmart or best buy and use the included tripod for a cheap camera or something more lightwieght. The covers are not really to travel with. If you're moving, put it in the travel bag. But say you are on the shooting range on a windy day and you just want to keep dust from flying in the lens, they will do fine. I don't have any marks on my rubber surface and its been through the paces at my shooting range. The surface does provide good grip. The more light...

You get what you pay for
I was looking for a sub $100 scope to take to the range (longest distance 100 yards). The scope itself works ok- pretty much what I expected for $70. There were some issues- the lens cap kept falling off (weak springs inside), the outer rubber shell made it looked used (marks and scratches from the factory show up easily), and the back pack was pretty much a back pack (meaning it did not offer a whole lot of protection). The worst of all, as others have mentioned, was the tripod- very cheap and fragile. It gave me a headache looking into the scope because the slightest touch would made the picture vibrate like crazy. I ended up returning it. There is nothing special about this scope- if you do need a 20-60x60 scope, buy it in person at a place like Walmart or something. The reason for this is because a scope they sell there will be similarly priced for a very similar product(and you can return it in person).
Poor QC
Optics are on par with the price range, however the mounting hole for the tripod had been stripped out completely. It appears that the unit was new, so it must have come from the factory this way. Not wanting to deal with the return of the item I opted to drill out the aluminum, retap, and install a helicoil. Added about $5 and a half hour of time.
